What this programme covers

The Certificate in Environment & Waste Management (CEWM) is AIWMR's flagship programme. It is designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge and skills needed to manage environmental challenges effectively.

The curriculum covers environmental laws, impact assessment, biodiversity, HSE, environmental auditing, waste management and recycling — providing a comprehensive foundation for building genuine expertise in the field.

Participants gain hands-on knowledge in environmental management systems, risk assessment, policy development, compliance and waste management planning. The programme is delivered by certified instructors and includes an end-of-course assessment, with certification awarded on successful completion.

What you’ll be able to do

Read and apply the environmental laws, policies and regulations that govern waste in India
Scope and interpret an Environmental Impact Assessment and its management plan
Design a waste management plan for a facility, campus or urban local body
Run an environmental audit and report findings against compliance obligations
Assess environmental risk and build an environmental management system around it
Practical knowledge of environmental management systems and risk assessment
Confidence with policy development, compliance and waste management planning
A recognised certificate awarded on passing the end-of-course assessment
